Our little family ventured out to enjoy another sunny day in February...this time to our nearby neighbor Durham!
We took Landon to one of our favorite "dives", The Federal. Technically, the Fed is more bar than restaurant, but it has a corner patio for people watching, and some of the best, locally-sourced food in Durham. Since all three of us are foodies - we were in!
We soaked up some sun and edgy-downtown vibes (as suburbanites, we have to get out sometimes to keep it real!), then received the nicest surprise when we asked for our check. An unknown couple at the restaurant picked up our lunch and drinks! They told our waitress that they wished someone had done that for them when they were a young couple...one day we will pay that one forward :)
Next we went to the Sarah Duke gardens to run around, play ball, make some new friends, and "fish" in the pond. We wrapped up our afternoon with Landon's first trip to an ice cream shop; we learned that he likes chocolate better than vanilla!
